An international application needs more than a translated heading. The recipient must understand the qualification, work context and contact information, and the final document must display the writing system correctly. Begin with the organisation’s own requirements.
Check the language and requested format
Use the application’s stated language and document type. If a portal requests an official form or Europass document, follow that route. Nepocore’s templates are original layouts; they are not official Europass exports or a substitute for a required form.
Explain qualifications without inventing equivalence
Keep the original qualification name and add a short plain-language explanation if useful. Retain original grades and scales. Do not claim a foreign degree equivalence or convert marks using an unsupported formula. Use the relevant official assessment when an application requires it.
Make contact details understandable
Use a readable location and an international dialling code when appropriate. Confirm that portfolio links are public and usable by the recipient. Avoid adding passport numbers, national identifiers or personal details that the resume does not need.
Choose headings and translate your own content
The builder offers English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese section-heading choices. These controls do not translate your experience or guarantee fluent language. Review the whole document with someone competent in the destination language when needed.
Test the actual characters in the export
Names, accents and writing systems can render differently across export methods. If direct PDF cannot encode a script, use browser Print / Save PDF and inspect every page. Check Word in the receiving application when possible. Do not replace a person’s correct name just to hide an export problem.
Use the appropriate official resources
For European applications, the official Europass CV resource explains its own format. For a research application, read CV vs resume. Also review whether a photo is appropriate for the actual recipient.
Sources and context
This guide combines original examples with instructions for the implemented Nepocore editor. For general career-writing principles, consult Harvard’s career-services resume resource. Requirements differ by recipient; follow the actual application instructions.
